Dopo aver passato gran parte della sua adolescenza ad ascoltare la musica più disparata che si trovasse in giro, Mirko L. Castaldi deve aver capito di poter riversare quel viluppo di emozioni contrastanti nel potere della parola scritta.

È divenuto un autore indipendente pubblicando la raccolta di poesie d'amore Notti d'estate (2024) e la breve prosa Interferenze (2025); quest'ultima una storia surreale, all'interno della quale si intrecciano l'eco dei grandi romanzi psicologici con la cruda violenza del noir, il tutto sorretto da una cornice cinematografica e sognante.

In parallelo alla scrittura ha coltivato al lungo la passione per la musica underground, collaborando come produttore e strumentista all'EP black metal Every time the night falls (2024), firmato Wilwarin e concepito in duo con il musicista greco Marios Pertsinidis. 

Attualmente studente alla facoltà di lettere dell'Università degli studi di Cassino e del Lazio Meridionale, lavora attivamente al suo romanzo d'esordio, viaggia per l'Europa e quando può si concede una partita a Dark Souls.

After spending much of his youth immersed in the most diverse fringes of underground music, Mirko L. Castaldi realized he could channel that tangle of contrasting emotions into the power of the written word. As an independent author, he has released the poetry collection Notti d’estate (2024) and the short prose work Interferenze (2025). The latter is a surreal tale where the echoes of great psychological novels intertwine with the raw violence of noir, all held together by a dreamlike, cinematic frame. 

Alongside his writing, he has long cultivated a passion for the musical underground. In 2024, he collaborated as a producer and instrumentalist on the black metal/dungeon synth EP Every time the night falls, released under the moniker Wilwarin and created together with Greek musician Marios Pertsinidis. Currently a Humanities student at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, he is actively working on his debut novel, traveling across Europe, and —whenever possible— losing himself in a session of Dark Souls.
